Organizational tracking

Organizational tracking is one of the additional features in Snoobi. Is is a convenient tool for acquiring new clients as well as in managing existing customer relations. Equipped with information about which organizations visit the company website, it is much easier to approach the visitors at the right time in terms of establishing new deal or relationships. Organizational tracking can also increase the awareness of the movements of competitors, affiliate groups and/or current customers at the company website.

Organizational tracking can be initialized with just one phone call, and it does not require any additional procedures to function. You can get more information about the analysis of organizational tracking results from here.

The Snoobi account does not include organizational tracking unless there is a section called “Visitors by organization” at the end of the report. You may order this extra feature by contacting Snoobi.

ISP / Operator filtering

Starting from the version 2.0 of the Snoobi report, visits from Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have been disabled by default and do not show up on the list of organizations. If necessary, ISP hits can be re-enabled by clicking the icon shown in the Snoobi report (see Image 3.)

A visitor is seen as an ISP, when that person or a company has not registered its Internet connection under its own name. Accurate person identification is illegal under the Finnish law, and that is the reason why, in Snoobi, it is impossible to get more personalized information than the name of the company.

If, despite the filtering, you find an ISP in your Snoobi report, you may cross a box on the corresponding organization's row, to indicate that the visitor is in fact an ISP. Every visitor that you have marked as an ISP will be treated as an ISP in your report. However, it has to be noted that visitors that have been falsely marked as ISP’s in the Snoobi report, do not cause any problems in other Snoobi accounts, since all ISP markings are thoroughly verified before adapted into more widespread use.

If a company has been mistakenly marked as an ISP, this can be corrected from the Snoobi settings under Organization manager.

ISP filtering only affects the organizational identification of visitors. Even though filtering is on, all the visits, visitors and downloads through ISP-internet connections will continue to show in the other headers of the Snoobi report (Summary, Referring websites, Pages and so forth).

Page views and routes by organizational visitors

Organizational tracking does not only show the number of visitors, but the quality of those visitors as well (see Image 2. page views / visit). The higher the ratio between page views and visits is, the better the likelihood that the visitor is actually interested in the content of the website. The drawback of using this ratio as a criteria for judging the quality of the visitor is that low ratio could also mean that the visitors have easily found the sites they have been looking for. Generally speaking, though, it is reasonable to expect that organizations with high page views / visit ratio are also potential candidates for future business.

Respectively, as mentioned previously, if the ratio is low, it could mean the visitor immediately found the page they were looking for. Again this could even more likely mean that the visitor is not interested in the content of the website.

The ratio of page views / visitor has to be put into perspective with the size of the website. Small website have naturally lower ratios, due to the relative lack of complexity in site structure.

The routes of individual visitors can be accessed by clicking the name of that organization in the Main Report. By varying the search parameters at the Target Group Report, different variables can be combined to allow the inspection of traffic from a desired perspective.
