Running Google AdWords campaigns through Snoobi
What is an AdWords integration
An integration between Snoobi and Google AdWords is available, which makes it possible to track as well as edit both new and existing AdWords campaigns directly through Snoobi's interface.
After a completed integration, you can make changes into your ads through Snoobi, without the need to separately log into Google's own AdWords account. This integration is a nifty option for those who are already managing their own AdWords campaigns or those who are curious to try their hand at creating AdWords campaigns independently.
It's free - there is no charge for making the integration or for using it.
Do you already have active AdWords campaigns produced by outsourced service providers?
If you do not wish to integrate AdWords campaigns into Snoobi, view the generally applicable instructions concerning the tracking of sponsored links / Pay Per Click campaigns. The general instructions should be used when wanting to track ads and ad campaigns that are not administered through Snoobi, for example if the campaign is done by one of Snoobi's SEM partners.
The AdWords integration advantages
- Possibility to do deep analysis and configure most aspects of the AdWords campaigns with one and the same tool. The campaigns can be conveniently edited directly from the Snoobi report, so you can improve and fix things as you go along.
- Snoobi also provides the key AdWords data/figures that you are accustomed to with Google, including prices, CTR -value, clicks and impressions. When combined with the familiar Snoobi metrics, the integration will shed new light on your AdWords campaigns and make the data particularly rich.
- You will be able to follow both the keywords (the chargeable, self-chosen words) and the search terms (visitor chosen, non-paid for words). Find out how the actual search terms, as typed in by visitors into Google, differ from the keywords that you've decided on. You can block out poor, disadvantaging words from triggering your ad.
- Snoobi will show you the visit's entire route from search term to every page view on your website; which pages the ad visitor browsed, how long their visit lasted and whether they ordered or went to some other goal page. This provides a comprehensive picture of your ad's profitability.
- When using the integration, you don't need to add any identifiers into the ad's landing page manually. The integration will prompt for your permission to add the identifier, then automatically fix the tracking for each integrated ad. (If you've been tracking the same AdWords campaigns previously with manual identifiers, it's smart to remove the manual identifiers to avoid seeing the ad double in Snoobi).
- After the integration, you always have the option to edit the ads either through Snoobi or through Google. The integration by no means shuts out using Google's own interface for campaign management. Snoobi exports all changes into Google each time you save changes to Snoobi. In contrast, if you edit an ad through Google, Snoobi imports the changes once every 24 hours (or immediately, if you click on the update button).

The integration requirements
- You need to have an existing AdWords account or you can also open a new account from Google's own site. Google charges roughly 5€ / $5 for opening an AdWords account.
- The administrator of the Google AdWords account is the only person who can accept the integration request, which makes the communication between Snoobi and AdWords possible. Once this request is accepted, Snoobi can fetch or bring data to and from the AdWords account.
- Independent campaign management. Snoobi can give support for editing the settings, but isn't liable for the actual AdWords account or any changes that the clients makes to any of the campaigns or the cost of the campaigns. Snoobi doesn't produce or optimize campaigns, so it is up to the client to ensure that the needed changes are carried out to the AdWords account and to the AdWords campaigns.
- You are a Snoobi client (the integration is not available for trial accounts) and your Snoobi account features the Ad tracking feature. Please contact your Snoobi specialist, if you suspect that your service package doesn't include ad tracking or you want to move from a trial account to a normal account.
- The AdWords account is in Standard version. If the AdWords is still in Starter edition, transfer to standard edition without any cost. AdWords integrations do not work together with Starter packages.
- Please note that Google continues to invoice the click costs normally, i.e. all changes made through Snoobi's AdWords settings will also take effect in Google.
- Generally, making the integration won't prevent you from integrating your AdWords account to one more system. Snoobi's integration uses up one "API" plug, which means that a "Interface + API" plug remains open for usage with another system, if needed.
